"What we propose today is a tour through the most beautiful beaches near Olbia. Often, you ask us for advice on which beaches are worth visiting and to give you some ideas for a relaxing day at the seaside. Olbia is a city that is increasingly appreciated, and besides being a departure and arrival point for many ferries and flights, there is a growing trend among tourists to stay in the city and discover the nearby beaches. The coast of the Gulf of Olbia and its surroundings has nothing to envy to other better-known stretches of coastline in Sardinia. There are numerous beaches just a few minutes from the city center with various amenities.
Here are, according to us, the 6 most beautiful beaches near Olbia that you shouldn't miss and how to reach them."
Porto Istana Beach
Located south of Olbia, Porto Istana Beach is truly one of those beaches that can be called paradisiacal. It is characterized by very fine sand and shallow water for several meters from the shore. The transparency gives life to different shades that enchant anyone who discovers it.
The beach is very popular, and the parking, for a fee, is not very large. We recommend going there early in the morning also because the space reserved for the free beach is not very large.
The beach is connected to other beaches called 'second' and 'third,' and it is possible to take a walk along the coast to the south for about 30 minutes until reaching the Costa Corallina locality.
To get to Porto Istana Beach, you need to reach the Murta Maria area and travel along the straight road from the central roundabout until you reach the beach."
Mare Rocce and Il Pellicano
These are two small beaches in the heart of Pittulongu, a neighborhood of Olbia a few kilometers from the city center. The colors of the waters of these two beaches are also worth mentioning, very loved by the locals, although they are surrounded by several houses and hotels and are not very large. Bar and umbrella rental services are available.
On the Mare Rocce beach, the Rock & Beach bar often organizes evenings with local bands and concerts on the beach. During the high season, it is advisable to visit this beach during the week as it tends to be more crowded on weekends due to residents visiting. There is no parking area, but you can leave your car along the adjacent streets

Cala Banana
This beach is located immediately after the Pittulongu neighborhood. It is a small beach with ample free parking created in the space occupied by a pond in winter. Both rental umbrellas and free space are available. In summer, there is also a small bar serving hot food.
The water has beautiful shades of azure and emerald, and the sand is rather fine. For some years now, the beach has been equipped with some floating inflatable structures, an original idea to entertain children.
The beach is connected by a short path to Nodu Pianu beach, which is also very charming and equipped with a small pier with services and a bar with live music until late on Sunday evenings.
To reach the beach, take the road connecting Pittulongu to Golfo Aranci, follow the signs, and after a short stretch of dirt road, you'll arrive
Bados
Bados Beach is also one of the most beloved beaches by the residents of Olbia. It overlooks the southern part of the Pittulongu neighborhood. The beach is quite long and spacious compared to the previous ones, and it is equipped with various amenities, including a rather large bar-restaurant. Paid parking is available where you can leave your car.
Marinella
Marinella Beach is located right on the border between the municipality of Olbia and Golfo Aranci. The beach is a long stretch of sand with fine sand, transparent water tending towards emerald, and is suitable for both young people and families. The beach offers various services, including windsurfing courses as well as the rental of stand-up paddleboards, water bikes, and pedal boats.
On the beach, there are several restaurants offering seafood dishes and music from late afternoon until evening. The dance evenings proposed by Blu Beach are well known. Parking is not extensive but is free of charge.
Li Cuncheddi
Heading back south, still near the Murta Maria area, more precisely towards Capo Ceraso, Li Cuncheddi is a rather spacious beach overlooking the Gulf of Olbia. After crossing a residential area, you reach the free but not very large parking lot.
The large hotel of the same name overlooks it, but otherwise, the beach retains a wild appearance with sand dunes. The beach is characterized by its exposure to the northwest and towards the Gulf of Olbia, which makes it protected from winds as well as unusual.
This beach also has clean and transparent water, while the sand varies from fine to coarser.
